Meet Jaime

Jaime Karp, LMHC
Jaime Karp is a seasoned School Psychologist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. She began her career working with underprivileged families in a hospital based clinic though has spent the majority of her career navigating the challenging dynamics of special education and supporting the social and emotional well being of students and families within a school based setting.
Jaime’s goal is to assist individuals and families navigate the ups and downs of life. By working together to shift patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, she believes you can achieve growth and positive change. While the specific focus of therapy is individualized according to each client’s needs, much of her work is grounded in cognitive behavior therapy techniques and mindfulness. She works to help people develop self-awareness, problem solving skills, and the ability to identify, regulate, and express emotions adaptively.
In addition, Jaime specializes in providing parent training and coaching. Children often have trouble expressing their thoughts and feelings. They might struggle socially or academically and parents may be unsure why. This can lead to frustration concerning your child’s behavior and emotional state. Families need tools and strategies to implement to achieve positive changes. This is where Jaime comes in!She strongly values a team approach, collaborating with families, schools, and any others engaged in a child’s life. She specializes in working with children experiencing anxiety, ADHD, anger management difficulties, behavioral challenges, and social skill deficits.
Jaime lives in Bergen County with her twin teenage girls, quirky husband, and loving Cavapoo (Harli). In her spare time, she loves listening to great audiobooks, diving into large puzzles, sweating it out on the Peloton, going to hot yoga classes, and spending quality time with family and friends.
