Meet Shauna

Shauna (Weinstein) Lynch, Ph.D.
Shauna is a passionate psychologist who has spent the last 15 years dedicated to treating underserved children, adolescents, young adults, and adults in the New York City area. Throughout her career, Shauna has witnessed the profound importance of human connection, play, and hope in the recovery process and has developed a therapeutic approach grounded in authenticity, humor, and an unwavering belief in every person’s ability to heal. Shauna has special expertise working with youth experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, problems in relationships with family and friends, school refusal, oppositional behavior, and trauma. She also works with parents to support both their own and their children’s mental health. Shauna has a strong background in research and believes that effective clinical work requires staying up to date on current findings.
Shauna has practiced at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, NYC Health+Hospitals, NYC Children’s Center – Bronx Campus, Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, and Long Island University – Brooklyn Campus Psychological Services Center. Additionally, she has held faculty appointments at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and has trained law enforcement teams on the developmental effects of trauma and crisis intervention strategies. Shauna has also worked for over a decade as a statistics instructor and consultant.
Shauna completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Long Island University – Brooklyn Campus. Prior to her graduate training, she attended Bucknell University, Deerfield Academy, and Indian Mountain School. At Bucknell, Shauna was captain of the Division I lacrosse team and a four-year member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Shauna lives locally with her husband and their two kids (a daughter and a son). She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, cooking/baking, reading, and staying active running and doing yoga.
